Warwickshire Search and Rescue is a Lowland Rescue team. They assist the police in searches for vulnerable missing people throughout Warwickshire, Coventry, Solihull and Eastern Birmingham. Their members have been on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, since 2013.

Their professionally trained, unpaid voulnteers provide valuable search management expertise and physical resources for searches on land and inland waterways. This includes specially trained drone and water teams. Most of this work involves locating high risk missing people, many with dementia or mental health issues, whose lives are in danger.

Finding these people as quickly and as safely as possible is crucial, particularly for their loved ones. Even though their involvement in searches is rarely publicised, it has never been more important. There are more than 330,000 reports of missing people in the UK in a year, according to a recent report by UK Missing Persons Unit.

This is a registered charity. They receive no statutory funding and have to raise the money to cover all their costs.

We are proud to help with the maintenance of the Lowland Rescue Team's vehicles.

Knowing the expected duration of the service helps customers plan their day and manage their schedules

. A. We usually ask customer to leave the vehicle with us for the day. This enables us better planning in the workshop- If you do require your vehicle for a certain time - just let us know we will always do our best to accomodate.

Q . What are my repair options?
Customers often want to know if there are different ways to address the issue, including more affordable or quicker solutions

A. We will always strive to find the best solution for your vehicle. We will always fit the best quality for the best price.

Q. Do you have experience with cars like mine?
Ensuring that the mechanic has experience with their specific make and model can provide peace of mind

A. We work on all makes and models, there may be one or to exceptions to the type of work though so always advisable to phone and check.

What checks should you perform on your car before setting off on holiday?

Holiday at last! But while you can sit back and relax, your vehicle has a lot to cope with. The greater load, high speeds, hot weather and long downhill stretches are a source of immense strain, not just for the brakes. To make sure your car gets you safely to your destination it is well worth giving some thought to a few important aspects before starting off:

The tire inflation pressure should be adjusted to the next highest total vehicle weight for safer driving and to reduce fuel consumption and tire wear. Important information can be found in the owner's manual, on the inside of the tank flap, or on the door pillar.
Do not load the vehicle beyond the limits specified in the vehicle documents.
Check the condition of the jack, tool kit, hazard warning triangle and first aid kit and replace if necessary.
Check the levels of windshield washer fluid and anti-freeze.
Check the oil level and top up if necessary.

How is it best to pack the vehicle?

Have you any idea how much force can develop inside a vehicle on full braking or in an accident? Objects flying around as a result are often the cause of serious injuries to the occupants. Such situations need never arise if the following points are observed when packing your vehicle:

Heavy objects should be stowed right at the bottom of the luggage compartment directly behind the backrest.
Never pile up luggage to above the height of the backrests in station wagons and family vans if there is no sturdy partition.
Try not to leave any gaps and pack individual items of luggage as closely together as possible.
Fix the load in position or use non-slip mats.
Make sure the driver's vision is not obstructed in any direction
The hazard warning triangle and first aid kit should always be easily accessible.

Myton Hospice was a favoured charity of Ray Warrington who started Warringtons of Warwick, and we know the hospice has helped so many of our customers over the years in respite care and providing end of life care.

-Before continuing, seek your authorisation for any work or costs that become apparent during the work phase but were not previously agreed.

-In the event of diagnostic work, provide costs before starting the job.

Finishing on time
-We will provide you with a realistic completion time.

-If a delay becomes unavoidable, we will give you as much notice as possible to allow you

Invoices
-We will provide an invoice which clearly shows details of labour charges, parts replaced, consumables used and any other service routines carried out.

-We will ensure that the content and value of the final invoice will correspond to those details previously quoted, subject to additional work being authorised by you.

-Include on the final invoice recommendations or observations regarding the need for further work or concerns related to safety aspects.
